So my brother took off to Paris for the weekend and gathering from his texts, he had a really great time… and actually managed to see the Mona Lisa at home! He was really thoughtful and brought me home some biscuits and cards which I found on top of the piano.

J’adore des biscuits avec du thé en France
Check out the card on the right! It had me in stitches. The biscuits have pecans and hazlenuts in them. Yum!
I don’t have much other news. I was at home in Sligo for the weekend. The weather wasn’t great so most time was spent knitting or thinking about knitting

I’ve started the front of Alouette. It’s grown considerably since I took this picture, but since it looks exactly like the back, I’m not particularly worried
I frogged the neck and reknit it – it still came out too small, although I could fit my hand through it. So, here it is in its frogged state, yet again. Something tells me it’s going to take a couple of more tries to get this one right.
Last but not least, here is what I’m planning on knitting when I get that purple neck sorted out! It is the cover pattern from Simply Knitting, which must have heard me complaining, because it came up trumps with a couple of pretty decent patterns this month. This is a really straight forward knit. I have got a monster ball of variegated blue soft acrylic that I think would really suit this project.
It’s really late and I need to go to bed right! now! but I wanted to say really quickly that I have been planning on putting together a podcast. I have been bouncing ideas off Alb and it’s starting to come together for me. Also! I made the greatest bread and butter pudding on Sunday in the microwave, no less, so I’m going to post the recipe tomorrow because it’s just so delicious.
Oh, that’s some great goodies you got – that postcard on the right is absolutely hilarious, is that Guinness in there? Yummy! And do enjoy the cookies, they sound so tasty as well!
