WIP

While I was busy last week stuffing myself with vitamins and iron and trying to get better, I just didn’t feel like knitting. But I had a bit of a zonky day on Wednesday, so I got out that enormous ball of purple wool I have and decided to knit myself a spring jumper, because it’s going to be nippy until May. Here are my humble beginnings:

I’m using my own pattern with some help from Zimmerman’s book. The last time I tried this, I completely forgot to factor in some ease and knitted half a body before I realised it wouldn’t fit. So, this time I’m knitting a 38″ jumper; 190 stitches around on 5mm needles. They’re my Denise circular needles there. Recently, I got a reply back to my complaint that two of my cords broke. The guy who replied said it was really unusual for two from the same set to break. But all I wanted to know was whether or not their “lifetime guarantee” covered me, outside the US, and it does. My replacement cords are winging their way to me as I type! horray!

My mum wants me to knit her one of these for her birthday:

I have found a really nice powder blue cotton that would really suit her, so I’m going to knit it in just the one colour. I’m glad she wants one of these because I’d like one for myself, but am not sure how it would look on me, so here’s my chance to find out 😀
