All systems are go!

It is always nice to get your beans back after being unwell. It really helps that the weather has turned slightly milder and the days are getting longer and a bit sunnier. I think you will understand, though, my precaution in knitting myself a very warm, woolly sweater… if last summer was anything to go by.

This is turning into a ridiculously fast knit. Maybe I’ve been hanging out with the 4-ply too long. I only got to work on this for about an hour yesterday and I still managed to get one cable repeat done. The pattern, in case you are wondering, is the Central Park Hoodie from Knitscene. I was instructed to knit everything in pieces and sew them up but since I would like to actually finish this garment before the next Ice Age, I am knitting it altogether, back and forth. And since I have become quite addicted to ye olde slipe stitche seame…

I rather like how it pops out, don’t you? I thought it would be very complicated to knit the body all in one piece, but once I got the cables placed correctly, it was easy going. The cables all repeat on the same row. Really, you couldn’t ask for simpler. I can’t wait to finish this!

  1. great stuff, the Yarn Harlot has a post about reinforcing knitting with crochet. She mentions the hood of the CPH that might need reinforcement. Thought you might like the info. I’m working on Cobbleston and that’s no where near a fast knit, at least not for me… ๐Ÿ˜‰ Ofcourse I’m doing 7 other things at the same time, so that could count for a little of the slowness… ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Love love love the colour of that yarn. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Oh, and might have to hate you since I’ve got next to nothing done since last week, and you’ve got masses of sweater.

  3. what a beautiful color!
i was just thinking about this sweater last night. it seems like the perfect kind of thing to wear instead ofd a jacket as the weather starts to warm a bit.

yours is going to be a beauty!
