As you may or may not know, I’m a coeliac. Being a coeliac means I’m allergic to gluten which is found in wheat, oats, corn/maize, barley and rye. I found out about it this time last year and have since found a whole new lease of life. I never thought I was terribly sensitive (some people react really badly to cross-contamination, ie, food that has come in contact with gluteny food) but I’ve found that the longer I’m off it, the more sensitive I am. Anyway, I spent yesterday in recovery because I ate something or somethings on Friday and Saturday that really knocked me for six. So, although I really wanted to show you some things, I simply didn’t have the energy to until today.
Remember when Lisa and Jacqui were struck down by The Plague? And I helped out for a few hours at the Knitting and Stitching show? Well, they surprised me and got me a present to say thanks!

It’s three balls of fleece (tops I think they’re called?) from Knit Shop. I couldn’t resist the rainbow stuff and spun it up right away. It’s so lovely to spin! Really easy! I can’t wait to spin up the other stuff now. Speaking of spinning, I’ve been doing lots of spinning with my other fleeces and have even gotten as far as plying it up. Unfortunately no pictures of it today as they are still drying out in the garage but as soon as they’re ready for their photoshoot, you’ll see them here! Thanks again, girls… so thoughtful!
Glad you enjoyed spinning it up and really hope you’re feeling better soon 🙂
that looks absolutely fab!!
Those tops are BEAUTIFUL. Great job on the yarn, too. Sorry you had a spell there, and I hope you’re back in action already (if not, I hope you feel better soon!).
I hope you are feeling better soon! My good friend suffers too but we’ve discovered a blog called “Gluten Free Girl” and she has lots of lovely recipes that my friend can try so as not to feel that she can’t eat gourmet at home (which is a problem for her and the time she gets off work). They are really nice recipes.
I really hope you’re feeling well again
i didn’t know you couldn’t eat gluten. not sure if i could handle life w/out my carbohydrates.
glad to hear you’re doing a bit better.
