Ve haff arrivvved!

Berlin pictures coming soon! Check out my knitting progress below!

I brought my Granny Smith along to Berlin even though I didn’t expect to have any time to work on it at all. But, I was pleasantly surprised. There were some evenings where we were too tired to do much, and we also went to visit Sachsenhausen, a concentration north of Berlin, which is an hour’s train journey away. So I was glad of it then, too. Have a look at what is gradually turning into the Left Front…

I got so carried away with it last night that I’ve knitted nearly two inches too much. I should have started the armhole shaping by now, so I’ll have to rip back. Yummy. I just love ripping out mohair. It’s as fun as getting teeth pulled.

Remember how I said that I simply could not start another sock project without having some decent 2.5mm 100cm circulars? Well, I got my circulars, and they are very decent. But I started the Pomatomus socks, and just had to abandon the circulars. It’s mostly to do with the yarn overs at the beginning of the row; I kept getting confused. So I’m back on the ole DPNs for now lol. The yarn I picked up in Fadeninsel that day with Glitzfrau, it is a lovely stretchy wool-cotton mix that unfortunately leaves my fingers blue.

I really like the stitch pattern; it’s really keeping my attention. I also like how the pattern has sneakily incorporated ribbing so that I am 100% confident these girls will stay up.

I left all my acquired stash behind in Dublin because really, there is only so much I can carry. I think I will do a few stash-heavy posts when I get around to it! I have got some gorgeous cream mohair I got a few weeks ago that I want to display to the world 😀

It’s back to work for me now this week. I have to really get stuck into my recital stuff for September (eeeeek) and I have just three weeks left in the Widows Pensions before I’m back to college.

  1. I love your projects! I’ve been looking at doing that “unpronouncable” sock pattern myself…I’m waiting on your Berlin pics! I know they will be fabulous!
