We’re all going on a summer holiday…

… but without Cliff Richard! Alb and I are flying out really early tomorrow morning to Berlin so I don’t know if I’ll be able to update. I could possibly end up updating more than I have been recently πŸ˜‰

I haven’t been able to take photos, so let me describe to you a trip I took with my mum’s friend, Mary, to the Craft Basket in Cliffony, which is 12 miles north of Sligo town. I like yarn shops that update their stash regularly πŸ˜€ I came out with two balls of the new Sirdar Bliss, which is a Kid Mohair mix, in a really airy, creamy colour. Yum! I’m planning on knitting a big shawl-scarf thing to go with my winter coat, which is bright green. I also got two balls of Regia sock yarn in a nice light blue colour, and a ball of cherry-red Angora (well, angora mix). The ball of angora is mostly souvenier stash because I can’t think of anything that will take only 80m of wool. I’ll think about it. Maybe a hair band.

I haven’t been knitting socks, even though I really want to, because I have beef with DPNs. I can’t handle really pointy DPNs anymore. I always end up poking myself simultaneously in the legs, stomach and boobs. So I am holding off until I get a pair of 2.5mm addis in Berlin. Such a demonstration of restraint! Usually I would just cast on for the hell of it, but I am uncertain about DPNs on an aeroplane. I will probably stuff my knitting bag into my suitcase at the very last second. Anyway, we’ll see!

Apologies, yet again, for no photos. I am almost finished the back of my Granny Smith! I will post pictures of that when I get up to Dublin tonight, to at least partially make up for the lack of photos πŸ™‚ Cheers to all who commented and wished me well. I am much better! And fierce excited about going away! Horray for holiday knitting!

  1. Glad the flu is better. Have a good holiday and show us your photos when you get back!

  2. Oh, I’m glad you’re feeling better. Enjoy yourself in Berlin. I was there right after the wall came down, but not since. Please remember to take lot of pictures while you’re there, especially if you see any Trabant cars around.

I’m kind of with you on the DPN front. I like having them around, but everything always ends up on Magic Loop for me anyway. Hmph.

  3. Good to hear you are better. But now I have the flu with fever, so besides for saturday the 5th I have not been to Berlin, which makes me sad. Hope you have a nice holiday and enjoy the weather and the masses of yarn shops. ^_^
