Picture Post

Finally! Pictures as promised! Apologies for the site being down during the week. The hosting I use jigged some things around and I didn’t notice :}

Firstly, check out the gorgeous mohair my SP spun for me, and the blue Cascade 220 she sent to me. Isn’t it lovely?

Here is a better close up of the mohair. I can’t believe she spun this herself! It is amazing.

And check out the funky buttons she sent along too!

I didn’t manage to get a photo of the nifty magnetic book marker she sent me, mostly because it is in use and I forgot to bring it out with me when I was taking phhotos! Similarly, the map of Virginia and photo book were also in use ;) As for the chocolates, they have mystseriously disappeared :D I have to say: magnetic book markers = brilliant idea! Why don’t we have them here?!

Thanks again, Secret Pal! You’re the best!

Salina has taken a dramatic turn for the better. Here it is, front and back all pinned up.

I have since sewn the shoulder and side seams, and knitted on the lapel. I tried it on at that point and it fits wonderfully. In fact, I am so happy with the fit that I would venture to recommend this pattern for any fitted, light worsted weight sweater. All that’s left to do is seam the sleeves and set them in.

Check out the ‘craft pins’ I got in Galway last weekend. Why didn’t I get a box of these before? Pinning knitting together is impossible with small sewing pins!!! These pins rule. And I am always thrilled with bright, multicoloured things…

Today, Alb is driving up from Galway and we’re going to continue on towards Donegal and climb Knocknarae. He wanted to climb Ben Bulbin (highest granite plateau in Europe! lol I have no idea how I know that) but I said that if we climbed Knocknarae (easier) we’d have a great view of Ben Bulbin! He’s messed up his leg playing football yesterday so we might not even get as far as any mountain. Photos to follow, in either case!

  1. You are VERY welcome! I thought since you love mohair so much that you could find something to do with it! The buttons spoke to me…they are YOU! Funny how chocolate disappears!

  2. I received socks that a secret pal not only knit for me but she’d also spun the wool herself. It made me feel SOOOOO special. I totally understand your awe. Enjoy!

  3. Hey there, Salina looks great, very curious how it will turn out. I’m reading your post from where I left off when I went to Sweden to now. I know it’s ready because I’ve swiftly seen it while scrolling, but I didn’t want to read that post before the rest… I’m sure it’s turned out lovely!
